- Wax seal with coat of arms of the Van Neck (Vanneck) family on original part of envelope dated 11 May 1779 to Joachim Rendorp and Gerard Nicolaas Hasselaer of Amsterdam.

19th wax seal as used on the correspondence by Gerard van Neck Esquire ('s-Gravenhage, 1692 - Putney, 1750) who was an influential Dutch-British banker and merchant and Joshua Vanneck, 1st Baronet of Putney ('s-Gravenhage, 1702 - Putney, 6 maart 1777) who also was an influential Dutch-British merchant and banker and the owner of Heveningham Hall. Mr. Gerard Nicolaas Hasselaer (1728-1797) was a mayor of Amsterdam. Joachim Rendorp, Vrijheer of Marquette (19 January 1728 in Amsterdam - 21 September 1792 in Amsterdam) was a Dutch politician of the Patriottentijd in the Dutch Republic. This letter was written at the time when Amsterdam merchants were negociating the loans to the Americans.
