Albion Press .. 1821; 4to; [xii], 798 pp. [ii], double column, with frontispiece portrait, engraved general title-page, three further engraved title-pages (all with copper-engraved vignettes), 13 copper-engraved plates, and a few wood-engraved vignettes; contemporary marbled calf, spine richly decorated in gilt and black, marbled endpapers; hinges worn, headband rubbed and split with a little loss, the first gathering, with frontisp. engraved title-page, and preface, has some time been re-fixed with adhesive tape, leaving brown staining on the inner margins there and the main engraved title-page frayed, marginal damp-stain to the next engraved title-page, first plate working loose and frayed in outer margin; the body of the book tightly bound and generally clean though there are a few stains and some marginal finger-marks; the tenth plate, like the first, is working loose and a little frayed in the outer margin. An early, comprehensive narrative of Cook's three voyages, with good illustrations.
