Deckle edged paper. ~ 9-3/8" x 6-1/4" A lot of original book illustration artwork in colors, made for the Dodd, Mead / John Lane Bodley Head edition of Sterne's classic by Valenti Angelo, prolific Italian-American printemaker, illustrator & author. These illustrations not published; this statement in pencil beneath the images of two; the 3rd annotated, 'published, but not quite the same' underneath. One of the illustrations accompanied by a sample title page of the book, the main title in fine black ink calligraphy, penciled subtitle and framing surround below. We believe these are unsigned working drawings. Hint of age-toning & soiling, a VG+ lot.
