Carel de Rooy, UNICEF Director in verschillende Midden-Oosterse landen, is zeer getroffen door het verhaal over Vader Andeweg, de eerste die zich in deze regio het lot aantrok van de doven. Het pad van zijn volharding wordt door de auteur op een fascinerende wijze vervlochten met de lokale politiek in een van de meest turbulente perioden van deze boeiende regio. Vanaf het prille begin in 1956 zette Andeweg zich in voor een missie waarin alle drie Abra-hamische geloven zich wel moesten herkennen: medeleven met de zeer kwetsbaren, de dove kinderen.

¶ A very rare,unique account of travel by cruise-ship Fürst Bismarck to the Mediterranean and the Orient by three wealthy Frisian friends, beautifully illustrated with a collection anthropological and touristical illistrations,and photographs of ship and passengers. In the 1890s the Hamburg America Line added the SS Fürst Bismarck to the series.
