Each page is outlined with a decorated, gilt border and is richly illustrations throughout. There is also a plan of London and a map of the district railway.This is a copy of the fourth edition. The fourth edition has a new feature in the Railway and Steamship routes from London to all principal places in Europe. Collated, complete. In full decorative cloth binding. Externally, worn. The Front board is coming away from the spine but is still attached. The spine is bumped and a little faded as are the extremities. There are a few marks to the boards. A second edition copy. This volume gives an account of the excavations which were carried out by Mr John Clayton at the Stations on the Roman Wall which were situated on his property in Northumberland. The findings from the Roman Fort Chesters are housed at the museum located on the site. Chesters was a fort on Hadrian's Wall near the village of Walwick, Northumberland and was built in 123 AD, just after the wall's completion. Richly illustrated throughout with a folding sketch map of the Roman wall. In half calf binding. Externally, very smart with a tide mark to both boards and slight fading to the boards. Some bumping to the head and tail of the spine. 'Archaeologia' is a journal published by the Society of Antiquaries of London, which began publication in 1770. The journal consisted of papers and lectures that had been delivered at the society's meetings, delivered by a wide variety of influential members, such as William Cowper, John Braithwaite, John Lubbock, William Henry Smyth, and more. The journal currently has one-hundred and eleven volumes published, and whilst the publication hasn't been formally terminated, no volumes have been published since 2007. There was also a break during the Second World War, after which the publication became more irregular, though up until 1939 the journal was published on a fairly regular basis. Some of his works include 'Life of Belisarius', 'The Reign of Queen Anne Until the Peace of Utrecht', and 'History of England From the Peace of Utrecht to the Peace of Versailles, 1713-1783&apos.
