With a handwritten dedication by Asquith: 'Pamela/ 10 March 1917/ H.H.A.'. Herbert Henry Asquith, 1st Earl of Oxford and Asquith (1852-1928) was the British Prime Minister from April 7, 1908 to December 7, 1916. 'Pamela' is Pamela McKenna (1889-1943), the wife of Reginald McKenna, who had been Home Secretary and Chancellor of Exchequer under Asquith. This book was a present for Pamela McKenna's 28th birthday.
