One copy of this book can be found at the American Antiquarian Society's library, but their record starts with "Stories of Hunters and Hunting," which is the first story in the book and corresponds to this book suggesting the title page and frontis in both copies are misbound. .

Uniform binding of stamped brown cloth with titling in gilt on the spine; publisher's advertisements for endpapers. Eminent Statesmen: The Life of William Penn; The Life of Henry Clay; The Life of Daniel Webster; The Life of Benjamin Franklin; The Old Bell of Independence; or, Philadelphia in 1776; The Yankee Tea-Party; or, Boston in 1773. Famous Generals: Life of Andrew Jackson; life of Napoleon Bonaparte; Life of General Lafayette; Life of George Washington; Life of General Marion; Life of General Taylor. Thomas Sinclair (1807-1881) was a prominent Philadelphia lithographer and produced all genres of lithographs including maps, advertisements, city and landscape views, sheet music covers, portraiture, political cartoons, certificates and book illustration. His work was recognized at the Franklin Institute Exhibitions of American Manufacturers in 1848 and 1849. One of his certificates was described as bringing "Lithographic Art to great perfection in this country" [Library Company of Philadelphia]. Overall bright spines and covers; few volumes with damp staining to the bottom edge corner and base of spine with minimal impact, except for slight discoloration of tissue guards; one volume with a pulled signature. Rarely seen complete, the uniform series is from circa 1855 based on the signature and date of the prior owner on the front fly leaf of each book. Bookplates on the front cover pastedowns. In very good condition. .
