The second volume of a work issued in five volumes spanning the years 1845 to 1858, with the fifth appearing as a fragment posthumously in 1862. This was Humboldt's attempt to combine the teachings of the various sciences into a unified theory that would fit nature. Alexander Von Humboldt was a German scientist, explorer and writer, known for his work on botanical geography. GOOD condition. Moderate fading to the spine. Minor to moderate scuffing to the covers, with minor uneven fading and soiling. Extremities scuffed and bumped. Interior solid, with moderate foxing to the endpapers. Minor scattered foxing throughout. Good .
