Moscow, 1954. Hard Cover. 607 pages. With several in text illustrations and a few fold out facsimiles of Bredikhin's writing. All text in Russian/Cyrillic. Fyodor Bredikhin, a Russian astronomer, is best known for his studies on the tales of comets and his studies of meteors. This work apparently collects many of his studies on meteors, including the origin of cosmic meteors, the origin of periodic comets, various observations of the Perseids showers in Russia in the early 1890's, the role of Jupiter in the formation of radiants, the orbits of Bielids, instances of fractionation of comets, etc. (This is all based on translations as given by a sheet tipped in to the book). In GOOD condition, slightly EX-LIBRARY with call numbers taped to the spine and written at the top of the title page. Moderate dusting/soiling to the covers. General fading, minor scuffing and edgewear. Very minor stain on the lower front cover. Interior clean and solid with minor darkening. Minor pencil annotations to the front and rear endpapers. Good/No Jacket.
