Faculty of Arts and Sciences Harvard University. The First Three Years of the Afro-American Studies Department 1969-1972. October 16, 1972
Cambridge, MA, Faculty of Arts and Sciences Harvard University, Presumed Publisher, 1972. Wraps. Printed wraps. 70 pp. An assessment of the first three years of the Afro-American Studies Department at Harvard, discussing accomplishments, needs and "unfinished business." While acknowledging in brief student protests that sought the creation of a Black studies department at Harvard, the authors seemingly reject the notion that the students had anything to do with its creation, instead subtly asserting that change was already in the works. Many appendices are included, offering a perspective on Afro-American studies, a report on Black studies, a former student's comments, courses of instruction, etc. VERY GOOD condition. Two release date stamps on the front cover. Light fading and edgewear. Very Good .

A program of events for a convention held by the Fashion League of America, listing the board of directors, members of various committees, etc. as well as a list of talks and fashion shows to be held. She took part in a 1913 fashion show in Chicago that featured dresses and clothing inspired by European Cubism and worked throughout her career to promote American fashion as equal or superior to French fashions (see The Beverly Review Sept. 17, 2019 article for previous information). GOOD+ condition. Minor toning and soiling to the covers. Light bumping and creasing along the edges. Small doodle on the lower front cover. Two small notes on the last blank page. Good .

Gun-Barrel Politics: The Black Panther Party, 1966-1971. Report by the Committee on Internal Security, House of Representatives. 92d Congress, 1st Session. Together with Minority Views and a Summation by Hon. Richardson Preyer Subcommitte Chairman
Washington, Government printing Office, 1971. Wraps. Printed wraps. 145, 7 pp. A few black and white illustrations throughout, reprints of illustrations from issues of The Black Panther Party. A supposedly "analytical" report on the Black Panther Party, discussing its origins, ideology and methodology in achieving its aims. The work cites the words of Black Panther Party leaders and ex-members, and subtly seeks to tie the party to foreign groups (communists) seeking to overthrow the US government, while ignoring the facts in some cases (such as the murder of Fred Hampton) that would portray the US government in a poor light. The report was issued by the Committee on Internal Security, formerly known as the House of Un-American Activities Committee, chaired by Richard Ichord, a staunch anti-communist. GOOD condition. Minor to moderate toning, some staining and minor soiling, with light rusting to the staples. Minor creasing and wrinkling. Good .
