Printed at the Shakespeare Head Press. Very clean and sound text block. The vellum binding is entirely sound but dust soiled and darkened ( improves with lengthy application of a soft rubber ) and the silk ties are defective. Comes with a custom made, dropover, solander case. No inscriptions or bookplates. Contemporary TLS review loosely enclosed. ix + 256, notes, index of authors, index of first lines. Cuala Press, Churchtown, Dundrum, 1913. First Edition, Hardcover. Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Publisher's quarter cloth binding, lettered in black. Binder's ticket on front pastedown. Front free endpaper browned, binding rubbed and with marks to the paper covered boards. A sound copy but spine cloth is frayed at head and tail and near the lettering. Edward Dowden ( 1843-1913 ) claimed to be only the editor of these 'found' poems, but modern opinion is generally inclined to recognise him as the author. This copy has a presentation inscription by 'E.D.D.' ( Elizabeth Dickenson Dowden ) dated 1913. Elizabeth was Edward Dowden's second wife. [ 8 ] + 59 pages. 300 copies were printed.
