"German Capital Ships and Raiders in World War II. With an Introduction by Eric Grove. [Complete set]. Vol. I: From 'Graf Spee' to 'Bismarck', 1939-1941. Vol. II: From 'Scharnhorst to 'Tirpitz', 1942-1944. FINE SET IN UNCLIPPED DUSTWRAPPERS"
"Frank Cass, [2002]" "2 vols., 4to., First Editions thus, with illustrations and numerous plans (many coloured in outline) in the text, and coloured endpaper charts; cloth, gilt backs, a fine set in unclipped dustwrapper. Naval Staff Histories were produced after WWII in order to provide as full an account of the various actions as was possible at the time. The audience was largely serving officers; some of the volumes were classified, not to restrict distribution but to allow the writers to be as candid as possible. At this stage of history they constitute a uniquely valuable resource. These two volumes combine five Battle Summaries (written as quickly as possible after the events concerned) and two Staff Histories. With a foreword by the First Sea Lord [Admiral Sir Nigel Essenhigh]"
