Ex-Library, Pages [212 including bibliography] clean, unmarked, binding tight, very slight lean to spine. Illustrated throughout with B&W art reproductions. Yellow cloth boards, brown lettering, some shelf wear at extremities, one small stain and some other minor discolorations. Usual ex-libri markings. The author who was an ex-newsman, magazine writer, and radio-TV writer, sets the reader down in mid-19th century New York when Boss Tweed and his robber associates staged one of the most sordid dramas in our history. Tweed & Co are too often regarded as merely thieves and grafters. They were much more, as this book points out with colorful care.
