Blumhardt ( -1922) at the time was teacher of Bengali at Oxford and of Bengali, Hindi and Urdu at the Imperial Institute, London. J.V.S. Wilkinson was a curator at the British Museum and edited a supplement to Blumhardt's catalogue of Bengali books in the Museum in 1939. Very Good.

Phillips Talbot (1914-2010) was then Executive Director of the American Universities Field Service, later serving as U.S. Ambassador to Greece 1965 ti 1969 and then Assistant Secretary of State for South Asian from 1961 to 1965 and President of the Asia Society from 1970 to 1982. In 2002 he was awarded the Padma Shri by the Indian Government for his efforts toward achieving better relations between India and American during his tenure at the Asia Society. Fine.

He was a pioneer of the idea that children's literature should be a serious subject for study and debate and meticulously researched the historical background for his books. Fine.
