A Discourse on the Study of the Law of Nature and Nations
London, England: Edward Lumley, 1835. Early printing. Hardcover. This is a small book (approximately 6" x 4") with a leather spine and marbled covers. The book is in Very Good+ condition and was issued without a dust jacket. The spine ends, spine joints and corners of the book covers have rubbing and some light wear. "Sir James Mackintosh (24 October 1765 – 30 May 1832) was a Scottish jurist, Whig politician and historian. His studies and sympathies embraced many interests. He was trained as a doctor and barrister, and worked also as a journalist, judge, administrator, professor, philosopher and politician." "He went in 1780 to King's College, University of Aberdeen, where he made a lifelong friend of Robert Hall, later a famous preacher. In 1784 he began to study medicine at Edinburgh University. He participated to the full in the intellectual ferment, became friendly with Benjamin Constant, but did not quite neglect his medical studies, and took his degree in 1787. In 1788 Mackintosh moved to London, then agitated by the trial of Warren Hastings and the first lapse into insanity of George III. He was much more interested in these and other political events than in his professional prospects." (from Wikipedia). Very Good+ .

WERMUTH, W, C. / BLACKSTONE INSTITUTE, The Law Trained Man
WERMUTH, W, C. / BLACKSTONE INSTITUTE
The Law Trained Man
Chicago, IL: Blackstone Institute, 1915. 1st Edition; 1st Printing. Paperback. Trade PB. This is a trade paperback book with cardstock covers and a side stapled spine. The book covers have very noticeable wear, wrinkling, rubbing and bumping. The spine ends have bumping and rubbing, along with edge tears and several chips. The text pages are generally clean, but there is noticeable toning to the pages. The front endpaper has a number of signatures of people (similar to a yearbook - my guess is they are either classmates or teachers of the course). "Blackstone was founded in 1890 as a school of law and listed as one of the oldest correspondence schools in the nation. In the early 1900s, the Modern American Law Series for Blackstone School of Law, Chicago was enthusiastically received by the legal community and laymen alike as a simple yet authoritative commentary on the law. " (from the Blackstone Career Institute). Good .
