The original printed front cover is present although it has now been laid onto stiff paper to preserve it in its delicate state. A large portion is missing from the right side, only affecting the 'N' in the author's last name. The plain rear cover is absent and has been replaced with the stiff paper. The contents show marginal creasing but are otherwise in very good condition. The HSSM also published Atkinson's early monograph entitled 'The Game Birds of Manitoba' (1898). Ill.: black-&-white illustrations. Transaction no. 65 of The Historical and Scientific Society of Manitoba. Peel (3d) 2734.
