FOUR LEGAL DOCUMENTS RELATING TO THE SALE OF LAND IN, OR NEAR, PILOT MOUND, MANITOBA IN THE YEARS 1903 TO 1910
Pilot Mound, MB, 1903 to 1910, .
¶ The first document is an Agreement dated March 7, 1903, and is made between two bankers named William A. Donald and John M. Fraser of Pilot Mount (the Vendors of the First Part) and a farmer named John W. Nelson of Marringhurst, Manitoba (the Purchaser of the Second Part) in which the Vendors agree to sell a quarter section of land for $2,000, this amount being due and payable March 1, 1910, with interest at 6 per cent per annum. The second document is a large Indenture dated May 8, 1909, made between John M. Fraser (bank manager in Pilot Mound, of the First Part) and John Shilson, farmer, of Velma, Manitoba (of the Second Part) in which Fraser agrees to grant to Shilson the land referred to in the 1903 document for $1,215, subject to the 1903 Agreement. This document is witnessed by William A. Mordie (?), the bailiff of Pilot Mound. The other two documents are Quit Claim Deeds, both dated March 22, 1910, and made between John W. Nelson of Marringhurst, Manitoba, and John Shilson of Velma, Manitoba, in which Nelson, "in consideration of one dollar" abandons all claim he (Nelson) may have against the property decsribed in the 1903 Agreement. All four documents are hand-written on pre-printed legal forms by W. A. Donald, Barrister, &c., Pilot Mound, Manitoba. Ecah shows a little soiling and wear, but there are no major flaws and any, or all, would look very nice if matted and framed. Marringhurst, or what is left of it, is in the Rural Municipality of Argyle, about 12 kilometres from Pilot Mound, Manitoba.
