¶ Murray (1889-1957) was a prolific English writer, essayist, critic, and editor. He produced more than 60 books and thousands of essays and reviews on literature, social issues, politics and religion. As a critic, Murry is best remembered for his association with Katherine Mansfield, whom he married in 1918 as her second husband; and for his friendships with D. H. Lawrence, and (and brief affair) with Frieda Lawrence. Light shelf wear and light scuffing to cloth. Former owner's bookplate on opposite front endpaper. A very good copy.
