Manuscript, Latin, 32x22 cm, 323 pp., full parchment binding with later leather closure strips, modern endpapers added, some resauration visible on the spine. The bookblock is solid and the handwriting clear. Considerable waterdamage in the back of the book. Probably written around 1630. The manuscript consists of a collection of civil and criminal legal advice. Advisors mentioned are: W. de Cocq, A. Berendrecht, E. Zimmer, Corn. du Quesnoy, H. Sonnius, J. Vermeer, C. van Cuyck, J. Herweyers, S. van Veen, J. de Haerlem, C. Alpen, F. Hey, Adr. Snoeck, G. Hamel, J. Banckem, J. Treslong, M. de Pottere, A. Goes, P. Peckius, Elb. Longoe, W. Cats, C. Bosch and M. Poets. Often located in The Hague. With an alphabetical index between page 144 and 145 (unnumbered).There seems to be a connection with a printed version of such legal advice, though the content is not identical. Manuscript, title-deed, 1818, Amsterdam. Official contract stating that Anna Christina Hen sells a house to Isaac Coenraad Onderberg. It concerns a property Anna Christina Hen acquired on 25 May 1803, situated on the Tweede Blomdwarsstraat (Amsterdam), the second house on the eastside. The house is sold for 400 guilders and this document states all the terms and conditions. It also states the current home address of both seller (Rheestraat no. 8) and buyer (Blomstraat no. 160) in Amsterdam. The document is signed by both and dated to 20 June 1818. There is a relief stamp (klein zegel) and a note of another payment of 4 guilders. The document consists of one folded leaf, 29.5x21 cm, 3 pp. On the back there are several (later) calculations in pencil. Clear handwriting.

Manuscript, arrest warrant for a Mr. Dirk Bus (?) from Amsterdam.
The note (oblong, 20x14 cm) is written in French, signed by the police commissioner (name difficult to read) and dated to Haarlem, 14 March 1842. The note states that the man in question is well known to Haarlem and that he should be arrested upon arrival. Single leaf with handwriting on one side, with a stamp depicting a crowned eagle with a zigzag shaped arrow, surrounded with unclear words, one word reads: "police".

Handwritten collections in transcripts of privileges and letters concerning the Rijnland Hoogheemraadschap. The transcripts are dated from 1255 to 1723, starting with the earliest sources. At the end of the book some unfilled sections are followed by a neat index listing all the entries including their dates. The writings show two hands. A modern entry in pencil is added in the back dated to 2010 by the owner at that time. He contemplates the worldly affairs of 2010 and the role books play. Signed by Jelle Kaspersma as the temporary keeper ("tijdelijke bewaarder").Beautiful copy of a full brown leather manuscript that is richly decorated (25x19 cm). The book has a ribbed spine with titleplate and gold tooling, there is a goldtooled heraldic crest on the front and back cover (crowned two headed eagle with Dutch lion) and also goldtooling on the edges of the cover. The edges of the bookblock are decorated as well in dark green and red. The written pages are foliated: 141 ff., followed by 8 blank ff. (except for the modern note in pencil) and then the index 5 ff.The handwriting - especially the first hand who wrote the bulk of the entries - is decorative, neat and clearly legible. There are hardly any stains and the construction of the book is in good condition.

The Minister of Finance declares in this statement to have in his possession two documents concerning an enlisted debt of f. 5200,- to the National Debt Ledger of the Dutch State, by name of Jan Hendrik Sassen (1817-1892). The documents are in his care to ensure Sassen's coöperation should the National Funds be in need of more financial support. The documents will be returned to Sassen when quitus is granted. The name of the notary is Hendrik Reijnders from Venraaij. Dated to 19 June 1871, 's Gravenhage.The history of these National Debt Ledgers dates back to 1814 and was fashioned to French example. It concerns an eternal debt, where the original debt was enlisted in the Debt Ledger and stakeholders would receive 2.5% interest twice a year. It was a way for the government to make sure the National Funds would not dry up as they did in 1813.
