NOT EX LIB 11. Near Fine/Very Good.

MARSHALL, ARTHUR
Sunny Side Up
London, Hamish Hamilton. 1987, First Edition. (ISBN: 0241123585). Hard Cover, 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. A near Fine umarked copy (Fine apart from a minor indentation to top edge and usual age toning to page edges) with near Fine dustjacket which is not price clipped. 279 pages. His countless readers will sigh with relief, send up three cheers, and press on with his new book, which is intended to amuse - and no nonsense about profundity or deep thought. There is plenty of useless information though. Did you know that Rupert Brooke could pick up a tennis ball with his foot? Or that there is a little-known illness called Lettucephobia? Or that Mr. Gladstone kept soup in his hot water bottle, just in case? Or that the Christian Science Monitor was once blessed with an editor called Silence Bellows? Well, now you do. 1. SEELY, HART (COMPILED AND EDITED BY)
Pieces of Intelligence - the Existential Poetry of Donald H. Rumsfeld
London, Simon and Schuster. 2003, First Edition. Hard Cover, 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. A Fine unmarked copy with Fine dustjacket which is not price clipped. First UK edition. Until now, the poetry of Secretary of Defence Donald Rumsfeld has been hidden, 'embedded' within comments made at press briefings and in interviews. His preferred medium is the spoken word, and his audience has been limited to hard-bitten reporters and hard-core watchers of C-SPAN. Hart Seely uncovers the gems hidden within hundreds of hours of Rumsfeld commentary, in the form of Zen verse, haiku, s-onnets, lyric poetry and free verse. The result is a hilarious and irreverently revealing book both by and about one of the world's most powerful men - funny but deeply worrying how he came to be in the position he did. B2E. Fine/Fine.

Embellished with drawings by Alajalov. 11. Very Good/Very Good.
