Octavo, about 9 inches tall, in light green cloth decorated in black and red. 331 pages illustrated by photographs. A yearly report on the activities in the aeronautical business with photos of new aircraft and articles on political and military affairs. This copy owned by Will D. (Billy) Parker with his signature on the front endpaper . He was a notable early aviator (private pilot's license #44) and member and one time president of the "Early Birds", a group open to those who piloted an airplane before Dec. 17, 1916. He continued to fly a "pusher" that he built in 1912 in airshows around the country into the 1960s. Endpapers lightly toned, but the inside is otherwise clean and soundly bound. The covers are mildly soiled and lightly edgeworn. There is an abrasion near the middle of the spine which has caused a tear of about a half inch. Very Good.

Octavo, about 9.5 inches tall, in black faux leather decorated blue and white, the decoration showing a dirigible over a city skyline at night. 84 pages illustrated by photographs. The seventh of a yearly report on the airship industry. ASSOCIATION: This one has about 35 autographs at the front including many important figures in aviation. The occasion was an airship outing over Cleveland on August 30, 1931 during the Cleveland Air Races of that year. Many participants in the races are signers. The names include Billy Parker, Lewis Yancey, Louise Thaden, Carl Lienesch, Clema Granger, C.R. Smith, Walter J. Carr, Eddie Schneider, Russ Brinkley, Bob Dake, Doc Kincade, Randall Henderson, Earle Ovington, Emory Bronte, and Phoebe Omlie. The book is clean and bright but there is minimal wear at the extremities. Very Good+.

An autobiography of one of the most celebrated woman pilots to come out of World War II. Sje recruited and trained the WASPS (Women's Air Force Service Pilots), and held many air speed records. Covers have light general soiling and very minor shelf wear. Front pastedown has a previous owner's tag (the recipient of the author's inscription). Text is lightly toned, but otherwise clean and sound. The jacket is complete but for shallow chipping and head of spine and along the top front panel. Folds are lightly worn with a bit of color loss. Very Good in Very Good Dustjacket.

A pictorial history of the French developer of small, single engine aircraft for "Everyman", and the craze that followed in France and England, and later in the U.S. when operated in the Chicago area in the late 1930's. Both book and jacket have a touch of rubbing to the tips and the jacket is a bit wrinkled at the head of the spine. Otherwise a clean, bright and sound copy. Near Fine in Near Fine Dustjacket.

A very early if not the first treatise on this subject surveying state and federal law. It was in print for many years. Previous owner name on front pastedown with 1928 date; front pastedown with some irregular toning probably from inserted newsprint; mild toning to the text; at least one page with a deep dog-ear. Otherwise clean and sound. The covers have modest edge wear with some loss of surface color. Corners bumped, the one to the upper front having softened the board. Very Good.

SIGNED BY BOTH AUTHORS AND INSCRIBED TO AVIATION HISTORIAN, MILTON PARKER. The inscription mentions Billy Parker, Milton's father, an important early aviator (pilot's license #44). Also typed letter signed by Jim Greenwood to Parker speaking of events that involved the two of them. The book is a well illustrated look at aviation stunt flyers in some memorable movies and television shows. The book is clean, bright and sound with light extremity wear. The jacket is rubbed and lightly edge worn with a couple of tears at the head of the spine and a couple more, none as much as a half inch. Very Good+ in Very Good Dustjacket.

Previous owner name and address on half title, that of Billy Parker. Parker was a notable early aviator (private pilot's license #44) and member and one time president of the "Early Birds", a group open to those who piloted an airplane before Dec. 17, 1916. and was head of Phillips Petroleum's aviation department for many years. He continued to fly a "pusher" that he built in 1912 in airshows around the country into the 1960s, Laid in is a postcard addressed to Parker from Bart Bacon picturing Glenn Curtiss in a rather flimsy biplane ca. 1910. Light general edge wear and some fingerprints on the front cover and mild toning to the text, but otherwise a clean, soundly bound book. The jacket spine is seriously sunned and unreadable; spine ends and adjacent areas are reinforced with clear tape on the verso; modest edge and extremity wear and a small chip at bottom rear panel. Very Good in Good Dustjacket.

Lindbergh's autobiographical account of his famous transatlantic flight and his life leading up to the event. A predictably popular book, this later printing is only four months after the first printing in July. Note that the signed frontis is detached and it is discolored at the mounting edge. The text is toned as usual but clean, and the binding is sound. The covers are modestly edgeworn and the spine is dull and darkened so the title is not readable. The spine also has mild fraying at the ends. Very Good-.

Parker (1899-1981) built and flew a rotary pusher in 1912 in Colorado. He was issued private pilot's license #44. He later did some barnstorming and then worked for Phillips Petroleum as manager of aviation fuels division. An important early aviator, he flew in the Royal Flying Corps during World War I, and later trained American pilots for the war. This book relates the around the world speed record set by Post and Gatty in 1931. Covers have modest but obvious edge wear. The half title and frontis (which has the inscription on the recto) were detached but they have been professionally reattached although the title page and frontis show some yellow tape residue. Text is lightly toned. Very Good-.
