¶ The Annual of British Landscape Scenery. Louisa Anne Meredith [née Twamley] (1812–1895), writer and naturalist. ODNB ‘... as a young adult she became a centre of lively interest in Birmingham literary, artistic, and Chartist groups. By 1836 she was a published poet and artist. Leigh Hunt was impressed by her early volume Poems (1835), and in his poem ‘Blue Stocking Revels’ teasingly wrote: ‘Then came young Twamley, nice sensitive thing / Whose pen and whose pencil give promise like Spring (Miller, 89) ...’
