¶ Chosen to demonstrate the picturesque possibilities of a cottage 'warped with age'. Stevens (1781-1823) was a member of the new Water-colour Society, and later an originator of the Sketching Society.

Of our twenty one plates 5 are undated, 11 dated 1825, 1 dated 1794, 1 dated 1795 and three dated 1796. Paper guards to each plate, 1 leaf watermarked 1825.
