It contains information about meteorology, geomagnetism, and auroral studies together with an historical report of the activities and events during the expedition. For the International Polar Year of 1882-3 the Swedish Royal Academy of Sciences, with government and private backing, sponsored an expedition to establish a scientific station in Mosselbukta on the North Coast of Spitsbergen. Due to heavy ice that season an alternative site at Cap Thordsen on the north shore of Isfjorden was used. The present set of reports was the only publication to appear following the return of the expedition. Arctic Bibliography 494, 2873-4, 4439-41, 6414 & 16443.
