New York, J. H. Colton, 1855. 1st, Elephant Folio - over 15" - 23" tall. Disbound. First printing. Map is dated 1855, but was first published as map No. 65 in Colton's General Atlas in 1857. Paper size is 14" X 17", plate size is about 12 1/2" X 15 1/2". Uncolored. Very attractive condition with very fresh, clean map image. No significant flaws, just light wear, some wrinkling to the upper margin, couple of fingerprint smudges to some margins, not too obtrusive. Very Good.

London, Chapman and Hall, 1838. 1st. Disbound. Drawn by A. Arrowsmith, Engraved by Sydney Hall, Bury St. Bloomsbury, from Hall's General Atlas. This is Plate LII. Map is 9 1/4" X 11 1/4", printed plate size 8" X 10", margins approximately 1/2" to 3/4". There is some hand-coloring: Cuba and some of the other islands in green, Florida and the Bahamas in red. Condition is Very Good as shown in our photo. No creases, tears or significant stains to the map image. There are a couple of very small ink blots visible in the mid-left area, around 1/8 or less. Very Good.

Teesdale, Henry

Map of Van Diemans Land

London, Henry Teesdale, 1832. 1st. Disbound. Dower, John. From Teesdale's A New General Atlas of the World, circa 1832. Later editions were published as maps were updated and revised to show new settlements etc. We have compared this map to an 1835 edition and this map is earlier, showing the 37 districts, but lacking additional county boundaries and names etc. It was published as a double-page map, paper size 14 1/2" X 18 1/4", plates size about 14" X 17 3/4". Attractively hand-coloured in red, green and pink. Very Good condition with expected centre crease, minor soiling, mostly visible in the margins, few small pinholes to the periphery, none noticeable to the printed map image. Very Good.
