Rosenfield, John Jr
Texas History Movies: For Young and Old
Dallas, Magnolia Petroleum Company. 1943, First Edition/First Printing. Staple, 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall. Ill.: Jack Patton. Graphic Novels, A solid copy that seems to have aged well. This copy has some rubbing wear, light cover soil, small chip to edge of front cover. Texas History Movies first appeared in the Dallas Morning News in comic/serial form in 1926. In 1928 it was published as a small softcover and in 1943 this softcover revised edition, a bit different in appearance was published. The 1928 edition was distributed free of charge to schools. Not sure what the distribution history of this edition although there is no indication of a publisher, other then Magnolia/Mobil. The revisions in this edition may very well have been caused by the racist claims that were made. If you go by the number of listings of this title on the internet there doesn't seem to be many surviving copies. 9" x 6", 128 pages with the cover featuring 5 small comic panels, the depiction of a wagon train on a larger panel. THIS COPY IS IN MY POSSESSION AND NORMALLY SHIPS NEXT DAY. Very Good +.
