Twenty Years After: The Battlefields of 1914-18 Then and Now - 3 Volumes
George Newnes Limited, London. 1937, First Edition. Hardcover. Three volumes (complete). A sturdy, lightly aged set of this extraordinary, poignant, assiduously edited and compiled, often moving, often intriguing, often fascinating, proud record of the Great War by those who fought and experienced it. All scarlet cloth covered boards. The spines of all three are sunned with wear to the head and foot. The boards themselves have wear all about from shelving, use and age. They have marks, stains, scuffing from storage and age. Nonetheless, they are sound, very steady and sure. The contents of all three are pleasing. Whilst there is very general, very mild aging, the pages are healthy. The page trims have some discolouration from shelving, however this does not travel onto the pages. There are occasional marks. In general and by far, the pages are clean and clear, companionable, certain, tight and tidy, agreeable and accessible, benevolent and memorable. Please note that due to the weight of the set, should the books need be posted to the outside of South Africa, extra postal charges may be required. fk.
