Black and Armstrong, London. 1838, First Edition. Hardcover, with dust jacket. 138 pages (complete). A much owned and affably aging copy. The boards have blind-stamped decoration, gilt titling. They are worn about all edges, corners and seams. They have storage, handling marks. The spine has been carefully repaired. Pleasingly, the boards and spine are fit, steady and sure. The papertrims are gilded (gleefully agleam). The contents have evidence of use, ownership throughout. Some pages have wear along the edges There are age-related marks, rashes and blots of foxing throughout. The tissue guards have some tanning, creasing. The general feel of antiquity and geniality are bolstered by the pages being tight, certain, convivial, clear, eager, competent, companionable. fk. Good/No Jacket.
