BADCOCK, PETER
Shadows of War
Galaxie Press, Salisbury, Rhodesia. 1978, Limited. Hardcover, with dust jacket. Ill.: Badcock, Peter. 52 pages complete. Hand-numbered 1300 by Peter Badcock of a limited edition of 1500. Signed by Badcock on the title page. This is Peter Badcock's first book published in 1978in a limited de luxe edition (of which this is a copy). It was an emotive recording of Rhodesia's savage guerrilla war, and such was its poignancy and its accurate reflection of the country's condition that it sold out, literally, in days. The book is housed in a leather bound slipcase. This is strong and tidy. It does have handling and storage marks and mild wear to the seams. The leather covers (in lighter tan) are contented and comfortable. They have very light wear and they too, have some handling marks. Within, the title page has a previous owner signature and date. The contents are evocative, comfortable. The pages have light flecks of aging marks throughout. Nonetheless, the pages are clean, clear, confident, tidy, neat, tight. An agreeable copy. fk. Good/No Jacket. Signed.
