No date is marked but as the Alexander Theatre was only renamed as such in 1960 and there is an advertisement with prices in South African pounds the indications are that the programme dates from 1960. The cast included: Rosemary Whitfield, Helen Braithwaite, John Hayter, Julie Mills, John Boulter, Louis Ife, Billy Matthews, Kempton Oliver, Norman Kelly-Herde (who was also Stage Manager). The programme has been carefully stored. However, it is creased and thumbed. The stapled spine is secure and sure. The pages are relaxed and comfortable, clean and clear, assured and genial. fk. The theatre production, of course, starred Julie Andrews who features largely in this book. This souvenir book had special photographs taken for it by Cecil Beaton (who was also designed the costumes). Included are TWO copies of the programme, one of which has a previous owner signature. These programmes are in very good condition. The book is in good, shiny, healthy condition. There is some wear to the edges and some general handling marking .
