AUSTEN, JANE
Northanger Abbey
Blackie & Son. Hardcover. Undated; inscription dated 1918. No edition, but looks to be an early edition. The boards are rubbed, marked and worn, but remain intact and square. There is a large tear in the spine of the book, but this does not affect the text on the spine in any way. Internally, there is a previous owner's signature dated 1918 on the front pastedown and half title page. The front pastedown is marked, and the half title page has some surface damage and chips out of it. This, once again, does not affect the legibility, and does not extend into the rest of the pages. Between the front end page and half title page, there is a beautiful pressing of a twig with leaves. The rest of the pages are clean and complete. The binding remains strong. JV.K. Good.
