The Art of Soaring Flight
Wolf Hirt. 1938, 1st Edition. Hardcover, with dust jacket. 214 pages (complete). Hirth was a gliding pioneer and an inventive aircraft designer. His factory, which still operates, was the first to start manufacturing parts for the Messerschmidt during WW2. This is a classic aviation book. It is highly favoured amongst gliding enthusiasts and even those who appreciate its prose. This copy is in general fair condition. The cover is marked, scuffed and worn about the edges, corners, spine head and foot. The spine is faded and tanned; it is, however, hale and fit. Inside, the frontispage has been removed. The contents are neatly annotated throughout. The pages are tight, clear, bright, comfortable, genial and well-minded. fk. Fair/No Jacket.
