Hardcover. 463 pages plus folded maps (complete). A comfortable, benign copy. Please note that one illustration, at page 176, is missing. The book was inscribed by Holden on the title page: "With the Author's kind regards". The rear frontispage has a gift inscription (not from the author). The boards have knocks and wear about the edges and corners and seams. They are scuffed, dulled by handling and storage. The spine has been repaired and is effective and efficient. Within, the end papers appear to be more recent than the contents. The papertrims have light wear, some sunning/ discolouration. The contents are genial, pleasing (especially when taking the age of the book into account). The pages have very occasional age-related blots and smears.
