YOUNG, SIR FREDERICK
A Winter Tour in South Africa
E A Petherick & Co. London. 1890, First Edition. Hardcover. 173 pages (complete). Signed by Frederick Jeppe on the half-title page as a previous owner. Jeppe was instrumental in the mapping of the Transvaal (he produced the first maps), and as Paymaster General he had the first stamps produced and the first rail mailing system installed. His sense of loyalty to the Boer republic was fluid and he supplied the British with information throughout his time with the South African Republic and until his death. Despite the age and user marks and wear (mild) the pages are sure, clean, clear, convivial, genial, bold, amenable, engaging. fk. Our orders are shipped using tracked courier delivery services.
