VARADAY, DESMOND
Gara-Yaka's Domain
Collins, London. 1966, First Edition. Hardcover, with dust jacket. 192 pages (complete). Hand-numbered 89 of a limited edition of 500 copies. Inscribed by Varaday ("To: Joey, "The beggar's dog and widow's cat. / Feed them, and thou wilt grow fat." by W. Blake / But don't forget the Cheetah! Desmond Varaday" (dated: 3rd May 1971). Varaday also sketched a cartoon of a cheetah. Also signed by Varaday's wife, Maryjane and she has signed on behalf of Chichubah! Also included is a drawing by Denis Murphy of the cheetah, Chicheebah. This is signed by Murphy (dated: 71) and by Maryjane Varaday (and she has signed it on behalf of Chicheebah). Included too, is a mass produced letter dated 10th February, 1971. Intended for the owner of this limited copy. The letter is signed by Desmond Varaday, Maryjane (Varaday) and "Chichubah". A most gratifying copy. The dustjacket is healthy and poised. It has some wear about the edges and seams from shelving, some light scuffing and rubbing. It is secure and sure. The boards are handsome and hale. The contents are in excellent condition. They are fresh, very clean, very clear, certain, confident, generous - as if almost new! fk. Our orders are shipped using tracked courier delivery services. Near Fine/Good. Signed.
