Marianhill Mission Press, Pinetown, Natal / P Davis & Sons, Maritzburg and Durban / J C Juta & Co. Capetown etc. 1905, First Edition. Hardcover, with dust jacket. 778 pages (complete). A VERY RARE copy of this FIRST EDITION of this extraordinarily important dictionary of the Zulu language. Bryant's dictionary was by far the most advanced and comprehensive dictionary of its time, when it was published. It is placid copy. The boards have wear, scuffing, marks from shelving, storage and handling. They are comfortable and secure. The spine is amiably worn, but is fit and sure. The contents are pleasing. The pages do have tanning from age and shelving around the edges. However, the text is unaffected. The frontispapers have various previous owner stamps and signatures. The contents are careful, clean, clear, healthy, more than competent, most gratifyingly benevolent and bountiful. fk. Very Good/No Jacket.
