Dornburgh, Henry
Why the Wilderness Is Called Adirondack: The Earliest Account of the Founding of the Macintyre Mine
Harrison, NY: Harbor Hill Books, 1980. 1980. Harrison, NY: Harbor Hill Books, 1980. 1980. Very good. - Octavo, softcover bound in pictorial cream wraps. There is some minor soiling to the wraps with very light staining to the bottom corner of the front wrap. 32 pages. Black-and-white illustrations. Very good.

A reprint, with minor corrections and a new preface, of the edition published in 1885 by the Daily Times, Glen Falls, NY. The new preface points out that Dornburgh's title was a misnomer or a misunderstanding since he appears to assume that the Adirondack region was named from the Adirondack Iron Works, whereas in fact it was the other way round. Very good .
