The two volumes of the periodical consist of "Volume XXXVI, Part I -November, 1908, to April, 1909", and "Volume XXXVI, Part II - May to October, 1909".
Here, appearing for the first time, are the first 14 occupations, represented in rhymes and illustrated by Denslow, which were subsequently reproduced in the book of the same title published in 1909.
The fourteen occupations consist of: "The Autoist", "The Pirate", "The Clown", "The Knight", "The Cowboy", "The Actor", "The Fireman", "The Hunter", "The Orator", "The Drum-Major", "The Soldier", "The Policeman", "The Baseball Player", and "The Sailor".
In the bibliography included in "W.W. Denslow" by Douglas G. Greene and Michael Patrick Hearn the authors describe the book, "Illustrated in color and black and white by Denslow. The book contains poems and pictures which first appeared in St. Nicholas magazine, November, 1908, through October, 1909, with ten additional episodes which had not previously been published." [Greene & Hearn 44]. Very good .
