The author, Alexander Fraser, a journalist and Scottish author, was the secretary to the Citizens' Committee which raised the regiment. With a list of officers at end, as well as an Honour Roll (of subscribers), plus over 30 pages of period advertisements. The book is handsomely bound in a blocked tartan binding of red, green and black. The boards are bumped with some light rubbing to the edges, and evidence of scuffing and soiling. The joints and hinges are tight, and the endpapers are clean and intact, although the binding is a bit 'springy'. The contents are clean - no former owner's markings. Altogether, in good plus condition. Ill.: black-&-white illustrations.
