Darlington, Rapp and Dresser, 1864. Hardcover, 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Dark maroon paper covered boards, with titling on the front cover, rebacked in maroon cloth. The covers are rubbed and faded. The hinges are secure. The text is complete, some toning and marking. Pages (4), II, (2), 38. Inscription on the endpaper dated 1864, presented to a Sergeant of the 26th reg (Cameronians), by a Mrs E. Cooling of Huworth-onTees. With a frontispiece of Huworth-on-Tees. Whether a soldier on the frozen shores of the St. Lawrence, or the burning banks of the Ganges, or even more remote Australia, designed to instill a calming image of the tranquil Tees, haunting the day-dreams of the unwilling absentee. Good.
