Some white paint spots on the rear cover, splitting to cloth at spine edges, a few nicks on the spine and chipping at the ends. Inner hinges loosened. Caledonian Club Library label on front end paper (bequethed by Daniel Mackintosh Forbes to the Club, 1917), free front end paper and half-title page are lacking, light age toning to the pages, a few minor markings internally, generally clean. 515 pages. Fourth edition. Fair.

Decorative purple cloth binding, gilt illustration of cod fishing in Newfoundland on the front cover, the binding is rubbed and faded. The inner hinges are loosened a bit, bookplate removed from the front endpaper. Toning and some marking, generally tidy. Woodcut illustrations throughout. Pages; X, 510. Includes; Salmon fisheries, cod fisheries, Tuna, Herring, eel, shellfish, pearls, shark, turtle, whale, seal, coral. Undated, circa 1880. Good.
