Maroon cloth with dulled gilt titles and simple blind stamp decoration. Hinges carefully strengthened at some time in the past, and boards with a few marks, still a very good and tight binding. Inner hinges (and inside edge of the title) strengthened. Original front-endpaper laid-down to front board. Title with previous owners signatures to top margin. First 14 pages consist of Preface; Alphabetical Index; and Metrical Index. In all there are 276 separate tunes with musical script (some with words). Clear text throughout. Some pages with a few light blemishes, from previous use. A well preserved book. Excerpt from "Preface.": This collection of tunes has been brought together, as its name describes, for use with the book known to many of the Lord's people under the title of "A Few Hymns and Spiritual Songs for 'The Little Flock,' " as revised in 1881..".
