This is the sort after third edition published posthumously by his nephew with additional corrections notes from Coleridge. Originally published in parts in his Newspaper style Journal of the same name written and edited by himself it is an eclectic publication that drew upon every corner of Coleridge's remarkably diverse knowledge of law, philosophy, morals, politics, history, and literary criticism. In book form it was a highly influential work and its effect was felt on writers and philosophers from John Stuart Mill to Ralph Waldo Emerson. CONDITION Later rebind in Blue rexine cloth, pp xx 278, 261, 555. Bright and clean copies, light edge wear to spine ends and tips, paper title lables to spine toned and a bit scuffed. Overwight. In 1969 and 1970 he presented the program Kris Hemensley's Melbourne on ABC Radio. In the 1970s he was poetry editor for Meanjin. He was awarded the Christopher Brennan Award in 2005, which recognizes poetry of "sustained quality and distinction".
