Ca. 1890s. One is 7 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches on 8 3/4 x 10 3/4 mount. The second is 7 1/2 x 9 1/4 on 10 x 12 mount. One is somewhat faded and light, with chipped corners of mount; the other is slightly faded. It has imprint of "D. H. Blome, Photographer" in lower margin. Notes on backs give location of Yale Hotel, "My Lot," "Where we used to live," "our own cottage," etc.

Marchant Slight toning at center fold, else near fine and bright Matted and framed in glass. Shows the U.S. westward through Texas, New Mexico and Missouri Territory. States and territories with hand-colored outlining. Decorative borders. "New Mexico or Santa Fe" is a narrow territory including only a small portion of today's state, bordered on the west by Mexico and on the east by a large "Western Territory," above a truncated Texas. Nebraska is a long narrow territory from the Kanzas River to the Canadian border. "Missouri Territory" is west of Nebraska, comprising part of today's Wyoming and Montana, showing only rivers and a few army forts. Engraved vignettes of a buffalo hunt, Penn treating with the Indians, Washington Monument, etc.
