[corners sl.bumped/head & foot of spine with sm.chips] All Edges Gilt. Titlepage in red and black with birds and floral decorations to all four edges + To reader + names of painters + color plate to preceed each story + 96pp with Beggar's daughter & last page with large printer's mark & 1845 date. The end of Lady Isabelle's Tragedy which follows on from Babes in the Wood has Ambrose Merton's device with a tudor rose, a beer barrel etc with AMB above MER. Only two copies on COPAC and no further copies in World Cat. There is an American edition dated 1846 all others being 20th centurys reprints. Scarce.
