There is a tidemark up to page 6 and also to certain later sections of the book. There are also areas of foxing and others with browning and a few small holes affecting one or two letters of the text and one leaf [p331/2] with a paper fault across 5 lines each missing no more than a few letters. Endpapers have a small ownership stamp "Pro Christo et Patria Dulce Particulum" surrounding a Unicorn's head and initials RHK below the unicorn. All pages are well attached and supple, quite readable. A fascinating early account of important books thought important for students at Oxford & Cambridge.

L'AGRICULTURE ET MAISON RUSTIQUE ..avec un Traite des Chasses du Cerf, du Sanglier,du Lievre, du Reynard,du Blercau.du Lapin, du Loup, des Oyscaux, de la Fauconnerie. Derniere Edition.
Lyon, Carteron & Charles Amy 1689 One full page woodcut and 36 further woodcuts + La chasse du loup with 14 woodcuts + 8 diagrams to the usage de la jauge ou diapason. . Quarto handsome vellum covers with 4 raised bands and neat titles in black lettering and compartments decorated and ruled with date to foot of spine [vellum skin with some darkening/2 small stabs to cover] All edges sprinkled red. Titlepage + [6]pp "to the reader" & "instructions"] + 362pp [recte 658]. The pages are uniformly lightly tanned with some pale foxing. There is a needle sized hole in the lower middle part of the pages up to page 36 but this does not prevent reading the text. Also a neat "repair" to two margins on the verso of the titlepage however this seems unecessay as there are no tears to any edge of this page! There are 5 other marginal repairs none of which touch any text. Presumably these were all done by Rudolf Jager from Bremen who added endpapers with his date of binding given as 1930. Bookplate of Heinz Lahusen to front pastedown as well as a small label "Jagd-B Nr.154" to the lower corner.
