(1) Harper's New Monthly Magazine, October 1871: Postage Stamps and their Origin, (2) Scribner's Monthly, May 1878: The New York Post-Office by Edawrd Eggleston & (3) Appleton's Journal, September 1878: The New York Post-Office by Leander P. Richardson. The book bears the stamp of Charles Forrester, Jr, on the front free endpaper,apparently bound up for him as such; Forrester was the oldest post office employee in the country at the time of his death in 1886. Very good copy .
