. Oblong 4to. (36.5 x 27 cm) Lvs. (11) With 48 inserted embossed chromolithograph autograph cards of famous actors, composers, authors, etc. placed in Art Nouveau decorated frames. One sheet with content. Last two leaves titled "Biscuites Levčvre-Utile" missing eight cards. Bound in publisher's decorated boards, printed in silver and gold.An exclusive promotional album produced to celebrate Levčvre-Utile winning the grand prize for making biscuits at the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris. Lefčvre Utiel (LU) is a renowned French manufacturer of biscuits and chocolate based in Nantes (now part of Mondelez International). The lavishly decorated cards were included in packages of cookies and were intended as a collector's item. Each card has a colourful artistic scene associated with a contemporary celebrity, and includes a photographic portrait of the same. The artwork was created by leading French artists and photographers of the day.

. Folio. Thirty mounted plates, of which sixteen in colour, on thick cardboard. As issued loose in original cloth-backed illustrated portfolio with cotton ties. Title page slightly browned but otherwise in excellent condition. First edition. A collection of various Art Nouveau designs for ceramics, decorative panels, furniture, silver and ironworks, jewellery, etc made by famous artists of the time, including Roubille, Brandt, Bacard, Daurat, and Ségaud. There are many textile patterns from this period that date back to earlier centuries. Some of the plates were also published in "Documents de décoration moderne" issued about 1900.

Housed in original cloth covered boards, with printed title labels, spine expertly restored with most of the original preserved, new cotton ties. Some minor toning and occasionally some small mark but a lovely set of French women's fashion of the time. (Two more similar sets with fashion plates from 1490-1795 and 1900-1920 were published and also a smaller-size version).

Robert Bienaimé was a French perfumer who is known for his work at Houbigant Parfum where he created several well-known fragrances for the company. Robert Benson, a British judge and historian who accompanied a group of commissioners to Corsica with the aim to carry into effect the bequests of the Corsican patriot General Pasquale Paoli (1725-1807) who spent his last years in exile in Britain.
