A collection of various Art Nouveau designs for ceramics, decorative panels, jewellery, furniture, silver and ironworks, jewellery, etc made by renowned artists at the time including Roubille, Brandt, Bacard, Daurat, Bacard and Sgaud. Moreover, there are many textile patterns from this period which dates back to previous centuries. Some of the plates were also published in "Documents de dcoration moderne" issued about 1900.

. A folder comprising 51 mounted plates with original designs for wall paper or furniture fabrics executed in lavish gouache colours, all in typical Jugend style. The motifs are clearly inspired by natural forms and structures, particularly the curved lines of flowers and plants. The pattern sizes vary from 30-36 cm x 38-53 cm. Bound in original half cloth boards, spine with some damage, paper label titled "Meubles Referenzen. Saison 1903/1904" pasted on upper cover. We assume that this unique design catalogue was used by a furniture store or upholsterer who provided products made to order. The beautiful colourful patterns are preserved in an exceptional condition. An impressive and very rare survival of a customer book of this kind.

A descriptive list of a collection of authentic Chinese objects shown at an exhibition in Stockholm, the first exhibition to present Chinese objects to the public in Sweden. Comprising paintings, antiquities, books, porcelain, stamps, tiles, foods, papers, cloths, embroidery, scrolls, ceramics, and more. Includes a section with Siamese books. The collection was brought back by Carl Fredrik Liljevalch. He was a successful Swedish merchant who was sent to China on a East India Company ship to negotiate a Treaty of Friendship and Commerce with China, which was concluded in 1847. Cordier BS 2180. . A beautiful and well-preserved pair of round hand fans painted in ink, colour and gofun on paper with handles of lacquer decorated with gold, and silk tasselled cords. The fans are decorated in rinpa style with a landscape scene and flowers, on the reverse one has a view of Mount Fuji and the other a bamboo scene highlighted with gold. One fan has one small chip at edge and a few tiny paper losses, the other is in fine condition. Size: 23.8 x 23 cm, length including handles 36 cm. Mounted in the original paper folders woodblock-printed in colours. Haibara, established in 1806, is one of Japan's oldest paper merchants and still operating in Nihonbashi in Tokyo. During the Edo period Haibara became famous for the decorated round fans (uchiwa) produced as a typical souvenir at that time. The third owner, Haibara Naojiro (1846-1910), worked close to artists like Shibata Zeshin, Kawanabe Kyosai and Kawabata Gyokusho who created the original designs for Haibara's products. A delightful pair of these handmade fans.

First edition of this unusual Hungarian children's book illustrated by Lajos Kozma in a characteristic Art Nouveau style. The book was issued by Kner Publishing House as one of a series of three children's books, of which another one is Anna Lezsnai's "Mese a btorokl". Bla Balzs was a Hungarian - Jewish film critic, writer and poet. He was the writer of the scenario for Bartk's ballet "The Wooden Prince". Lajos Kozma was one of the foremost Hungarian architects and interior designers of the early 20th century. He joined "The Young Ones" a group of architects influenced by the "Vienna Secession". His early works were created in Art Nouveau style but later, through Art Deco, he found his way to the International Modernism.

With high-quality woodblock-reproductions of ukiyo-e prints and paintings by famous artists such as Kitagawa Utamaro, Katsushika Hokusai, Shibata Zeshin, Sakai Hoitsu, Ogata Korin, Mauyama Okyo, Kawanabe Kyosai, Yoshitoshi Tsukioka, etc. Includes several folded prints of hashira-e (long and narrow pillar prints), nagaban (large print) and long surimono (exclusive prints for special occasions). Printed in lovely rich colours several highlighted with lacquer and mica. Bound in the traditional Japanese fashion, as issued within coloured decorated wrappers. In 1902 Didrik Bildt brought home a collection of 285 different Japanese works of art such as; vases, tsuba, paintings, fukusa, kakemono, etc. Each item is well described. Several of the items were presented at the Japanese exhibition at Stockholm in 1911.

. A unique, magnificent artist's book, entirely handmade. Narrow folio. (13.8 x 33.2 cm) Lvs. (8). Seven double-page illustrations, fully illuminated by hand, using watercolour, ink and collage. Original sprinkled paper boards, blue on gold coloured paper, manuscript title labels, housed in matching slipcase. The beautiful binding is by Armelle Gugant. Diane Bournazel (born 1956) is a French painter, printmaker and book illustrator represented in both private and public collections in France and elsewhere. Her books contain mysterious narratives or poetry without words which illustrate life, death and love in a puzzling way. Her detailed illustrations are filled with people, animals and other beings hovering in enigmatic environments. The stories are not straightforward and are always open to an interpretation and reinterpretation which may vary from time to time. The centre of the book has window cut-outs which make it possible to look both forward and backward. This together with small pieces of collage and striking decorated zigzag edges invites us to read the book in so many different ways. The colophon reads: "Ce livre est unique - je l'ai imagin et ralis durant l't 2018, a Marliac, o, les nuits, nous contemplons les toiles. Armelle Gugant l'a reli, en douceur". Read at the Society of Antiquaries, Feb. 5, 1767. 4to. Pp. 222-6. With one large folding engraved plate of Tartar sepulchres (burial chambers) and four engraved plates depicting different objects found in the tombs. AND : II: Observations on some Tartarian Antiquities, Described in the preceding Article. By Reinhold Forster, F.A.S. Read at the Society of Antiquaries. Feb. 26, 1767. 4to. Pp. 227-35. With two engraved plates depicting Tartar idols. Bound in modern quarter calf on marbled paper covered boards. Some minor browning. Paper is brittle, some tears at margins, and inner margins of the plates have been strengthened. First edition of these scarce papers about the tumuli or tombs of the Tartars. Demidoff's letter refers to the works by Strahlenberg and Bell and further describes the discoveries made by a Russian expedition sent out to open some of the tombs. The five plates are engraved after original drawings made during the expedition and published here for the first time. Forster's account is devoted to the writing and literature of the Tartars; different funeral ceremonies; dating of the graves, etc. Paul Demidoff was a Russian traveller and patron of scientific education. Johann Forster was a German explorer and scientist.
