The Beaumont Collection of Lordships of Manors in the counties of Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk (auction catalogue)
C.M. Stanford & Son, Colchester and Strutt & Parker, London, 1954. Original card covers with front cover illustrated. 11.5ins x 8.75ins, 46pp, stapled. Foreword by James Wentworth Day. This is the auction catalogue for the sale of 27 Lordships of Manors. For each manor there is a history of the descent of the title and a record of whatever court rolls, court books, minute books, rentals, quit books, etc that are to passed on with the title. There are also references to ""customs"", wayleaves and sources of income as appropriate. The manors are Layer Bretton, Wivenhoe, Great Bromley, Crepping Hall, East Donyland, Fordham Hall, Goldingtons, Le Howe, Martells Hall, Overhall and Netherhall, Rivenhall Hall, Tollesbury Hall, Blamsters Hall and Great Henny - all in Essex. Akenham, Beaumonds in Lindsey, Glemsford, Callis Metholds and Wimbolds, Cokfield Hall, Earls Hall, Haughley, Stowmarket in Suffolk. Ashwelthorpe and Wreningham, Fundenhall with Hapton, Bressingham Priory, Mills on the Moor with Great Fransham and Circum cum Willcocks, Norfolk. There is an index of family names to the inside rear cover. Staples have rusted so that the cover is loose. The covers are a little grubby but overall this a G+ example of a scarce and interesting item.
